Adult Learning Wales has launched a new, improved Membership Scheme!

ALW’s membership scheme is a community of current and previous learners, and those committed to Adult Community Learning (ACL) and lifelong learning, who together can help shape ALW and the environment for learning across Wales.

Become a member or renew your existing membership and become part of our active community today!

As a member, you can:

Get involved. . .

• Join us for membership events both online and in person, including conferences, exclusive lectures and “coffee mornings” focusing on relevant themes and areas of interest.
• Attend day trips to attractions in Wales with ALW at a discounted membership rate.
• Put forward proposals for changes/new initiatives both internally and in relation to the wider adult learning sector. Contribute ideas on topics relevant to adult community learning via focus groups and meetings.
• Stand for a position on Council, ALW’s governing body, or vote for your representative on Council.
• Attend our annual Learner Awards event and conference.
• Attend Annual General Meetings (AGMs) and vote on proposals.

Keep up to date. . .

• Receive membership information on joining along with a digital membership card, followed by termly newsletters and regular email communications about courses, new initiatives, and events.
• Be kept informed about and have the opportunity to contribute to Government consultations which impact on adult community learning.
• Receive information about the achievements of ALW and of our learners.

• Be consulted by ALW on ideas and issues via email, focus groups and meetings.
• Have a direct email contact for sharing views with us.
• Help us decide how we spend money raised from membership fees, and receive updates about how the money has been spent.

• Receive a 10% discount on fees for ALW courses when you register for your course online.
• Receive exclusive money-saving offers or invitations to events with our cultural partners in Wales.
• We are currently working with Hay Festival, the Royal Mint Experience, and the National Trust Wales on exclusive member offers, member days out, and access to online webinars!

As an inclusive organisation, we are proud to operate a ‘pay what you can’ approach to our annual Individual Membership fees. We recommend £5.00 for the unwaged and £10.00 for those in work, but this is just a guide.
