Clare Glennan - Co-optee Learner Expereience Committee

Dr Clare Glennan is a Senior Lecturer in Qualitative Social and Developmental Psychology at Cardiff Metropolitan University’s School of Health Sciences. A Chartered and Coaching Psychologist with the British Psychological Society, Clare has extensive experience in higher and adult education, underpinned by a PhD exploring mature students’ transitions into higher education.

She has led and designed undergraduate and foundation programmes, coordinated international exchanges, and championed outreach initiatives supporting community learning and widening participation in WIMD areas of Cardiff and more recently with asylum seekers and refugees.

Clare is an active contributor to institutional and national committees, including Estyn’s Peer Inspection for Adult Learning, and the Cardiff Met Board of Governors. Her research focuses on qualitative methods, coaching and positive psychology, and the social psychology of wellbeing, particularly within educational and community contexts.

Recognised for her excellence in teaching and civic engagement, Clare holds Senior Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy and has received multiple Vice Chancellor’s Awards for Community and Learning Impact.
