Council Member - Rhys Goode

I grew up in the valleys of Bridgend, and I have seen throughout my life the importance Adult Learning has when it comes to improving lives, skills and work opportunities. I left Wales to study at university before beginning my career in policy and public affairs in London, where I lived and worked until returning to Wales in 2020.

Since returning to Wales, I have completed an MBA at Cardiff University, served as a County Borough Councillor in the village I grew up in, spending two years as a Cabinet Member for Regenerations & Wellbeing, as well as sitting on several boards - in an attempted to give back to the communities that enabled me to flourish. Currently, I sit on the Cwm Taf University Health Board as an independent member, as well as a Director at More Than Flags and Rainbows, an inclusive education organisation that I co-founded with my partner. I am looking forward to bringing all this experience together and working to improve access and knowledge of adult learning across Wales.
