Overview

Join a friendly class for beginners in Sewing Skills. Learn practical skills for work and life and create some lovely items.

Content

Skills covered include: Understanding sewing equipment and different types of fabric. Setting up a sewing machine and using different stitches.
Using hand stitching techniques and securing threads. Using sewing skills for life, work and community projects.

Qualification

Accredited with an Agored Cymru unit.

Entry Requirements

The course will be for beginners. No entry requirements.

Progression with Adult Learning Wales through our Sewing Skills progression plan and to other ALW courses.

What Do I Need?

Sewing machines and basic resources are provided. Learners need to provide fabric and other resources. We will advise on what is needed and how to use recycled items and keep costs to a minimum. Eligible learners can apply for our financial contingency fund to help with cost of resources.
