Overview
On the Level 1 course you will cover: The nature of Autism and Autism Spectrum Disorders. The range of difficulties that may be experienced by someone who has autism. Strategies to support someone who has autism. All learners who successfully complete the Level 1 course will be automatically enrolled onto the Level 2 Classroom Assistant course, which will run directly after the Understanding Autism course for a further 6 weeks (9th February to the 23rd March). On the Level 2 courses you will gain a greater understanding of ADHD, how it affects learners and what you can do to support them. You will also learn the range of learning support models adopted in schools. The role of a learning support assistant. The management of children’s behaviour. The need for observing health and safety in a school. PLEASE NOTE this course will run IN TOTAL for 11 WEEKS from 14th September to 7th December 2026 and will include three accredited units and an ACEs and Trauma workshop.Content
