Overview

• Introduction to garment making and sewing techniques
• Basic sewing machine skills
• Working with fabrics and materials
• Simple construction and finishing techniques
• Sustainable sewing ideas using existing fabrics and materials

Content

Join us for two free taster sessions and discover the basics of garment making in a relaxed and friendly environment. You will be introduced to sewing machine skills, sewing patterns, garment construction techniques, and working with a variety of fabrics and materials. These sessions are a great opportunity to try something new, refresh existing skills, and explore your creativity.

Non-Accredited Taster Sessions (Free to Attend).

Entry Requirements

These sessions are suitable for anyone interested in sewing and garment making. No previous experience is required, and both beginners and experienced sewists are welcome.

Opportunities to Progress

Following these taster sessions, you may progress to a longer non-accredited Garment Making course to further develop your skills. Opportunities to progress onto accredited sewing, textiles, and fashion courses will also be available.

What Do I Need?

Your tutor will be in touch following enrolment to advise you of any materials required for the taster sessions. We encourage a sustainable approach to sewing and garment making, using fabrics, materials, and items you may already have at home wherever possible to help keep costs to a minimum.
