Overview

Come along and join our friendly intermediate sewing class. Learn practical skills for use in work, further learning and your local community.

Content

This class is for intermediate level learners to progress their learning. For this class, learners would need to know how to set up and use a sewing machine safely. We will be covering how to make alterations to garments, including: how to assess the fit of garments, how to prepare and sequence your work and how to stitch and finish alterations.

Qualification

Accredited with an Agored Cymru unit.

Entry Requirements

Learners should have completed previous courses with Adult Learning Wales or have some experience of sewing and sewing machines as outlined above.

This course will inform you on ways you can use your skills in further learning, community projects and workplaces.

What Do I Need?

Sewing machines and basic resources provided. Learners will need to provide fabric and some other resources. We will advise on how to use recycled items and how to keep costs down. Eligible learners can apply for our Financial Contingency Fund to help with costs of resources.
