Overview

This course will introduce learners to the formal elements of art including line, shape, form, tone, texture, pattern and colour.

Content

We will learn about elements of art and experiment with materials and processes before putting these together to create two pieces of art: an interior of a room of your choice and a portrait of a person of your choice.

Accredited Agored Qualification.

Entry Requirements

None. The class is suitable for beginners and learners who have some experience in drawing and painting and want to take their skills further.

What Do I Need?

You will need a selection of art materials including pencils, coloured pencils or pastels, paint (for example watercolour or acrylic), drawing paper and appropriate paper for painting (e.g. thick or watercolour paper). You will also need brushes, a paint palette, a pencil sharpener and a selection of pencils. The tutor will provide some materials which you can try before buying items, however you may prefer to bring your own.
