Overview

We will attempt to reconstruct the religious beliefs of the Celts as they existed before being transformed beyond recognition during the Roman era. Drawing on archaeological finds from the Iron Age (starting around 800 BCE), we aim to gain a better understanding of Celtic religions within the context of other ancient religions, their myths, and their rituals, trying to understand what makes Celtic religions unique.

Celtic religion holds a special fascination worldwide. But what exactly is Celtic religion? This course focuses on facts rather than the realm of fantasy—which is largely a product of the 19th century.

This course does not provide a qualification. Certificates of Attendance issued when requested by learners.

What Do I Need?

This course is delivered via MS Teams. The organisation will provide an email address and a password in order to access the course. IT Support will be provided to help learners accessing the course, if needed. You will need access to a Desktop/Laptop Computer (or a Tablet), with a camera and microphone to interact with the tutor and other learners. Headphones encouraged to be used.
