Being able to speak with confidence in public at meetings and events is a key skill for any union rep. Reps can face many different situations where good communication and public speaking skills are required.

This two-day course will help reps in building confidence, managing nerves and speaking clearly and persuasively. It will consider public speaking in different settings, whether at a workplace meeting, union conference or online event. The course will help you build on your existing skills and consider key techniques that can help to improve public speaking.

The course aims to help reps in preparing for both formal, planned public speaking situations (eg preparing a speech) as well as exploring techniques to help in more impromptu situations when speaking off the cuff. The course will include lots of hints and tips and practical exercises to help build your confidence. Courses are fully funded - there are no course fees for union reps from TUC affiliated unions.

You must be a union rep with a TUC Cymru affiliated union to participate in this course
