Council Member - Chris Franks
My record of working in the community and voluntary sector over many years ranges from being a local and county councillor, governor at primary and secondary schools, trustee of a local charity, and president of the Cardiff Naturalist Trust.
I became a WEA member as I recognised it genuinely sought to work with learners to improve quality of life through education in its broadest sense.
Having served as Cardiff and Vale Health Board’s Chair of Audit and, during my period as a Member of the National Assembly for Wales, as a Commissioner responsible in part for a £400 million budget, I have sound knowledge of the Nolan Principles, of financial procedures and expected codes of conduct in public office.
