Council Member - Daryl Leeworthy
I have been involved with the organisation’s Merthyr Tydfil branch for the past few years, most recently as tutor.
Previously I taught history for the Department of Adult Continuing Education at Swansea University and at the universities of Cardiff and Huddersfield.
In addition to my work in Merthyr, I currently teach at Cardiff and Vale College. I have a PhD in the history of south Wales, have written several books, and am undertaking a PGCE specialising in lifelong learning. I am particularly interested in the relationship between such learning and well-being amongst the elderly and how it relates to loneliness and age-related illness.
I have always been committed to fostering accessible and sustainable education for all, regardless of material and personal circumstances.
