Staff Governor - Nicole Kinnaird

I joined Adult Learning Wales as an Information & Communication Technology (ICT) tutor in early 2022. I am Cardiff-based but travel all over south Wales to deliver classes, enjoying getting out and about now we are returning to normality with regards to seeing others in person. I am PGCE PCET trained, have a BA (Hons.) in Education, Psychology and SEN, and am a school governor at Greenhill Special School, Cardiff. I intend bringing my previous experience of governing roles to the Council’s work.

I am hard-working and a critical thinker, with a positive approach to everything: I aim to be a proactive and effective Teaching Governor and will promote the best interests of our students, maintaining good relations with other staff members and those on the Council.

I also campaign for disabled rights, ending discrimination and improvement of the lives of disabled people across the world by ensuring accessibility and inclusion for all. I will encourage more disability awareness within the workplace, as society is not fully aware of the exclusions that disabled people face daily.
