Adult Learner Inspire! Awards 2017

width=214On June 15th, we attended the Learning and Work Institute (Formally NIACE Dysgu Cymru) Adult Learning Inspire! Awards for 2017, held at the City Hall, Cardiff.

The awards are now into their 26th year, and as always the night was one filled with happy memories where celebration mixed with story-after-story of endeavour and achievement. There were a total of 14 awards including the all-important overall Inspire! Learner of the Year.

Many of the inspirational stories demonstrate real life experiences of individuals who have gone through real hardship to break down their own barriers in order to achieve their hopes and dreams through the means of learning. Various large and small Employers that have shown commitment to investing in education and training of it’s workforce were also recognised, as well as Community Projects that demonstrate the role of education and skills as a key enabler for people to succeed. The Inspire! Adult Learner of the Year was presented to Laura Harris, Health and Wellbeing Award winner.

Well done to Laura and all the night’s winners from all of us!
