We offer Playwork qualifications that support the Play sector, delivering quality Playwork training that supports every child’s right to play. We equip practitioners (paid and voluntary) with the tools to offer best practice in their play settings.

 

Playwork

Our playwork courses are designed to develop skills in learners new to playwork or currently working with children in Wales. The course are aimed at developing learners to meet the play needs of children age 4-16 in school, nursery and afterschool/holiday club settings. Playwork qualifications help to develop an understanding of how to enrich and enhance children’s play to benefit learning.

Courses include:

  • Introduction to Playwork Level 1
  • Level 2 Award in Playwork Practice
  • Managing a Holiday Playscheme (MAHPS)
 

Playwork Training

We offer Play Work qualifications that support the Play sector, delivering quality Playwork training that supports every child’s right to play. We equip practitioners (paid and voluntary) with the tools to offer best practice in their play settings. We work to raise awareness of a child’s right to play and to promote good practice, we provide support to all those who have an interest in, or responsibility for providing for children's play. We work with partners across Wales to include employers and providers offering practice placements. Our work supports Workforce development, to contribute to the professional development of the play and playwork workforces in Wales adhering to NMS (National Minimum Standards and NOS (National Occupational Standards).

  • Level 1 Introduction to Playwork
  • L2APP (Level 2 Award in Playwork Practice)
  • MAHPS (Level 3 Managing a Holiday Play scheme)
  • P3 – Level 2 Certificate (Playwork Principles into Practice)
  • Transition Award – Level 3 (Early Years to Playwork)

We are pleased to be working in partnership with Clybiau Plant Cymru Kids’ Clubs to provide this qualification in certain geographical across areas of Wales.

About the qualification;
This qualification is based on the National Occupational Standards for Playwork and has been developed for Early Years practitioners who would like to broaden their knowledge and work in playwork settings.*
