Overview

Equality, diversity and inclusion are all about treating people fairly and with respect, no matter what their differences may be.
On this course, you’ll start enhancing your knowledge and understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion in all aspects of our lives. You will also be introduced to the nine characteristics protected by The Equality Act 2010 as well as exploring unacceptable behaviour, stereotyping, victimisation and discrimination.

Content

• What is equality, diversity and inclusion and why is it important?
• Lawful and unlawful behaviours as described by The Equality Act 2010.
• How to positively promote equality, diversity and inclusion in our day to day lives and activities.
• The use of appropriate and inappropriate language and terminology.
• Recognising, avoiding and reporting unacceptable behaviour, victimisation and discrimination.
• The benefits of an equal, diverse and inclusive society.

Qualification

Completion of this course does not result in a recognised qualification.
However you would receive a certificate of completion from us which would be available to download from your MyAccount.

What Do I Need?

As this is an online course, you would need the following:
• internet access
• access to a laptop or computer with a web camera and microphone; the use of headphones might also be of benefit
• use of the Chrome web-browser where possible

Please note that our online courses require the use of Microsoft Office 365 apps and our virtual learning environment, Moodle. Once enrolled on a course with us, we provide free access to these services.
