Overview

Business Emails (sending and receiving, organising inbox, attachments, formal/informal, layout and proofreading).
Introduction to self-employment and HMRC.
Personal tax and National Insurance contribution.
Budget planning.

Content

This taster course will introduce you to business related language and skills needed to work in an office environment. You will also learn important information about self employment in the UK and basic skills needed to set up and run your own business.

Entry Requirements

ESOL learners should be operating at Entry level 2 and above.

Career Path

On completion of this taster course, there will be an opportunity to progress onto an accredited course where business topics will be covered in more depth.

What Do I Need?

As this is an online course, you would need the following:
• internet access
• access to a laptop or computer with a web camera and microphone; the use of headphones might also be of benefit
• use of the Chrome web-browser where possible

Please note that our online courses require the use of Microsoft Office 365 apps and our virtual learning environment, Moodle. Once enrolled on a course with us, we provide free access to these services.
