OverviewThis course is suitable for those who have an interest in Patchwork , for beginners or have some experience of making patchwork?
This is an excellent course for extending your skills and learning new ones, with a good mix of hand and machine sewing techniques. It is an ideal opportunity to improve and develop patchwork and quilting skills by trying a variety of different techniques, aimed at giving a good grounding and confidence to develop skills and techniques to create patchwork items.
ContentThe course will focus on different techniques of patchwork and as the course progresses skills will be built on weekly.
This Course covers different aspects of patchwork and quilting and will include making a fabric bag from choosing fabric to putting the finishing touches onto the finished bag. The bag will be created and designed to your own taste.
This is a comprehensive course taught through demonstrations, weekly practical’s, and discussions
Learners should be aware there is a requirement to complete a workbook online whilst on the course, which will be completed during the course time and with the support from the course tutor.
QualificationThis is an accredited course with Agored Cymru.
Entry RequirementsNo previous experience required, suitable for all levels from complete beginners to those with some experience.
What Do I Need?Learners are expected to provide all their own materials, a supply list will be given at the start of the course
For the first week,
you will need
large sheet of brown paper approx. A3 size.
2 squares of cotton fabric approx. 50cm/ 20” square – fat quarters are fine.
a 12” zip
sewing machine with accessories if possible.
