Coronavirus - A Message from our Chief Executive

"Yesterday, the UK government announced a move to the “delay” phase of its plan to tackle coronavirus.

Our Frequently Asked Questions document has been updated in line with this announcement.

A key change to draw your attention to relates to self-isolation. Should you develop a new, continuous cough or high temperature, you are advised to self-isolate for seven days. People with symptoms are no longer required to call NHS 111, as the system is under strain, but are instead urged to look for information on the NHS website and 111 online.

The Chief Medical Officers’ advice is clear; that schools, colleges and childcare settings, should not be closed at this stage. These decisions are based on the latest scientific evidence. As such we will continue to operate as usual at this time, while keeping the situation under continuous review. The College Management Team is prioritising contingency planning activity, and meets frequently to review the current situation and identify issues.

Please be aware that our Annual General Meeting (AGM), scheduled to take place on 26th March, will not go ahead in its usual form. We are currently exploring the potential to facilitate a “digital AGM” using the technology available.

My best wishes to you and your families."
