A Masterclass in Dedication23-January-2021
Kim Wagstaff has been nominated for the Inspire! Tutor Award 2021 by her colleagues for her efforts in adapting, supporting and delivering Youth Work Support Work Training across Wales and for co-ordinating and developing the foundation partnership with University of Wales Trinity Saint David.
“I see the role of a tutor as a supportive role, not just for the development of an individual’s learning but also in the development of their self-confidence and well-being. I see tutoring not only as an opportunity for learners to gain practical skills that may help them with future employment opportunities, but also softer skills that will allow them to support themselves and others in day to day life.”
During lockdown Kim has juggled her tutoring commitments with home schooling her three Children, having not long recovered from an injury that incapacitated her for several months.
“For me, my biggest achievement is always seeing learners complete training and gain qualifications. Every time I run a course, I always feel immensely proud of learners as I know they have juggled personal and professional commitments to achieve.”
Thanks to the innovation that Kim has shown in adapting resources for online use, delivery has continued benefiting over two-hundred learners and fifteen tutors.
Wishing you luck Kim for this year’s Inspire Awards from everyone at Addysg Oedolion Cymru | Adult Learning Wales.
