Jiyoung Lee is from South Korea and helps refugees and asylum seekers through her work at York Place, Baptist Church. Previously she worked at the Korean Church. She has studied aromatherapy and uses her knowledge to support people from many different nationalities by teaching them the different ways aromatherapy can help their mental and physical health. She has lived in Swansea and London for almost 7 years and began English classes with Adult Learning Wales in January 2024. She uses English in her aromatherapy sessions.

Jiyoung Lee says, “I am an aromatherapist. I am very interested to use essential oils and also, I want to help people with what they need. The aromatherapy has benefits for health and emotions. I have a meeting every Thursday with some asylum seekers. I provide emotional aromatherapy and make some recipes as a pain oil, eye oil, deep sleep oil etc. Also make lip balm, candles, air fresheners. They very much enjoy this class. They learn about the essential oils and how to use them.”

Well done Jiyoung!
